SCAL 2025-2026 Master Calendar

2025-2026 Monthly Meetings

Monthly (Member) Meetings are scheduled on the 3rd Thursday of the month from October thru April:

Time: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM

(please note new meeting venues and different locations for certain dates below)


Monthly (Board of Directors) Meetings are  also held on the 3rd Thursday of the month from October thru April:

Time: 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM on the same dates

(BOD meetings at the Sanibel Library will be on the upper level & BOD at the Sanibel Recreation Center will be in the Osprey room)

Welcome to the Sanibel Captiva Art League 2025-2026 Season of plein air painting.   All outdoor painting is naturally subject to weather conditions.  A brief friendly critique follows the morning session.

FESTIVAL OF TREES 2025 - Update

We are excited to announce that the Sanibel-Captiva Art League entry for FESTIVAL OF TREES “Island Masterpieces" earned $5,000 at the live auction and achieved the highest bid for CHR’s fundraiser to help them continue their vital work on the island.  A heartfelt thank you to our SCAL members who contributed. 


The stats:

  • 20 trees were auctioned
  • 1 tree was raffled
  • 18 wreaths auctioned 
  • The gross income for the event was 530K (net numbers were not available at the time of this newsletter).
  • Attendance for the three-day event was 110 for Thursday, 400 for Friday (200 were children) and 260 for Saturday!


Our generous, talented artists contributed over 100 hand-made ornaments and our amazing “Tree Elf” Sherry Fonseth-Lais coordinated the wonderful contributions, designed the layout, and ensured that our tree was spectacular. Thank you, Sherry!
