2025-2026 Monthly Meetings
Monthly (Member) Meetings are scheduled on the 3rd Thursday of the month from October thru April:
Time: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM

(BOD meetings at the Sanibel Library will be on the upper level & BOD at the Sanibel Recreation Center will be in the Osprey room)

Welcome to the Sanibel Captiva Art League 2025-2026 Season of plein air painting. All outdoor painting is naturally subject to weather conditions. A brief friendly critique follows the morning session.

FESTIVAL OF TREES 2025 - Update
We are excited to announce that the Sanibel-Captiva Art League entry for FESTIVAL OF TREES “Island Masterpieces" earned $5,000 at the live auction and achieved the highest bid for CHR’s fundraiser to help them continue their vital work on the island. A heartfelt thank you to our SCAL members who contributed.
The stats:
- 20 trees were auctioned
- 1 tree was raffled
- 18 wreaths auctioned
- The gross income for the event was 530K (net numbers were not available at the time of this newsletter).
- Attendance for the three-day event was 110 for Thursday, 400 for Friday (200 were children) and 260 for Saturday!
Our generous, talented artists contributed over 100 hand-made ornaments and our amazing “Tree Elf” Sherry Fonseth-Lais coordinated the wonderful contributions, designed the layout, and ensured that our tree was spectacular. Thank you, Sherry!
