Festival of Trees

We are excited to announce that the Sanibel-Captiva Art League has applied to participate in the 2025 Festival of Trees , organized by the Community Housing and Resources group. This event, scheduled in November 2025, will display a uniquely designed SCAL tree as part of a larger celebration where creativity

and community converge to bring a festive and artistic touch to the holiday season.

Reflecting on the 2024-2025 Season

Looking back at the 2024-2025 season should make our amazing, talented, members happy and proud. SCAL was invited to exhibit in a number of varied venues. The exhibits were well received and in many cases pieces found new homes. Plans are already in place to begin ‘next season’ and we are working on filling our calendar with exciting opportunities for our artists. ‘Season’ will be here before we know it so let’s get creating! Keep your eye on the website for always updating information. Wishing you all a safe, happy, and creative summer!

It’s hard to believe that we are halfway through September 2024 already. Here’s what’s coming up in October:

October 3 (11:00am-1:00pm): SCAL Board Meeting at Sanibel Library.

October 14 (10:00am-12:00pm): Captiva Civic Association “Brushstrokes” Intake, Juror Presentation & Awards (1:00pm-1:30pm), and Retrieval (of unselected art at 1:30pm).

October 17 (11:00am-1:00pm): Welcome back! SCAL General Member Social Meeting at Sanibel Community House.

October 17 (5:00pm-7:00pm): “Brushstrokes” Opening Reception Captiva Civic Association. Refreshments and music on the patio provided by CCA.

Get Ready for March 15!!

March 15th is a BIG day for our league...

The times for all our activities on the 15th have been scheduled to make sure everybody ends up together to enjoy lunch and our annual meeting at the Community House from 11 am-1 pm.

We have art to receive and remove, and then a beautiful lunch where we can all gather and finally relax!

1. Intake for our Sanibel Library Still Life Show is 9-11 am, at the library. We will hang this exhibit after lunch , and not expect off islanders to stay for that.

2. Take-down for our Wild SCCF Show from 10-11 'ish at the Bailey Homestead.

3. Our Annual Lunch Meeting will take place at the Sanibel Community House 11 am-1 pm. RSVP to : Joleen Raho joleenmercedes@gmail.com by March 4 to ensure that your place set and ready for you at lunch, if you haven't already done so. SCAL is hosting this.

So, plan your route on Friday, say hello to Maureen at the Bailey Homestead for pick up, proceed to drop off at the library, and then settle in over at the Community House for our Annual Meeting.
